Sue Connaughton

Human Resource Director, Leadership Team

Susan Connaughton has spent over 30 years in the non-profit sector supporting individuals to become socially and economically self-sufficient through the provision of educational, health, prevention, and other basic needs services. In 1987, she received a Bachelor’s degree in Family Development and Human Studies from the University of Rhode Island. Susan is an experienced human resource manager and consultant who began her career as an early childhood educator, following her graduation from URI. In 1992, she transitioned from the role of Education Coordinator to Administrator as a Head Start Director, graduating from the Head Start Johnson & Johnson Management Fellows program through UCLA’s School of Management. In 2006, Susan embarked on a career in the field of human resources, participating in an 8-week Human Resource Boot Camp which culminated in becoming a Certified Professional through the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP). Susan Connaughton is certified as a provider of Mental Health First Aid and serves as a member of the RI Society of Human Resource Management and the National Society of Human Resource Management.
